Allan is president of the U.S. program at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, where he oversees the foundation’s domestic strategic areas: early childhood learning, K-12 education, post-secondary education, economic mobility and opportunity, special initiatives, and family homelessness and community grants in Washington state. His professional background is in finance and health care. Allan holds an MBA from Seattle University and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Colorado. He is an active community volunteer and serves on the boards of a number of regional and national organizations.
