Seneca leads the Academic Practice on the Impact Team. In this role, she partners with academic leaders to create powerful communities that support adult and student learning across the CSGF portfolio. Before joining CSGF, Seneca served as a consultant and coach, working with senior academic and organizational leaders across the charter school sector. Previously, she spent nearly 8 years as the founding chief academic officer at Valor Collegiate Academies in Nashville, Tennessee. During her tenure, Valor’s three schools consistently earned outstanding results, ranking in at least the top 5% of the state in both achievement and growth annually. Seneca began her career as a teacher in San Jose, California with Teach for America. She then completed her Ph.D. in education policy at the University of Michigan. Seneca also holds an MA in education research methods from the University of Michigan and a BA in Comparative Literature and Spanish from Smith College.
